Welcome
In January of 2007, the Oregon State Board of Education voted to adopt new high school graduation requirements. These new requirements are designed to better prepare each student for success in college, work, and citizenship. To earn a diploma, students will need to successfully complete the credit requirements, demonstrate proficiency in the Essential Skills, and meet the extended application requirement. Students will also have the option to earn credit for proficiency. A phase-in schedule (2007 – 2014) has been created to allow students, families, schools and teachers to adequately prepare to meet these new requirements. Our goal as educators is to see that all students graduate from high school prepared for college and career readiness.
This website will support districts in the implementation of the Oregon Diploma requirements and provide samples of how students can personalize their learning options through inspiring culminating projects. Student videos and sample projects will provide direction as districts continue to provide powerful personalized learning options. This website is rich with examples of curriculum and resources developed by educators across the state and the nation. Knowing that staff and programs are in constant flux we have not included contact information. Instead we encourage you to seek current information from each site by using the web. Recognize that even though programs are evolving, they are useful for learning in each stage of development.
